EXPLORE CHANGES WITH I CHING - FRIDAY 1 NOVEMBER @10AM AND FRIDAY 8 NOVEMBER @ 10AM

(limited to 4 people per sitting)

The I Ching, also known as the Book of Changes, is an ancient Chinese text. A profound system for understanding the dynamics and complexities of change. I've studied and used it for 25yrs, and am sharing it with a small group for the next 2 weeks as a meditation method.

The I Ching provides valuable insights and clarity that helps rational decision-making and thoughtful choices.

Wellknown people such as Carl Jung, who applied the I Ching in his work on archetypes and the unconscious, and Nobel Prize-winning physicist Wolfgang Pauli, who explored its connections to modern physics, have found the I Ching to be a valuable framework for exploring complex ideas.

Other notable thinkers, including Albert Einstein and Richard Feynman, have also acknowledged its intellectual depth, recognizing its capacity to bridge the gap between science and philosophy.

The I Ching dates back to around 1000 BCE, with the earliest versions of the text believed to originate from the Western Zhou dynasty (approximately 1046–771 BCE).

At its core, the I Ching enhances awareness of the patterns that govern change - hence the name The Book of Changes. It is used to observe and analyze circumstances, using symbolic imagery and mathematical principles, particularly through the use of hexagrams—six-line figures. The six lines represent a binary-like system or a dualistic framework of thought that predates contemporary binary code.

The text reflects the interplay between yin and yang, the primal energies that shape our universe. It illustrates how opposites coexist and influence one another.

By examining this and meditating on it, we can gain a deeper understanding of our current circumstances and experiences in the broader context of life.
